“In unity, there is strength” - Aesop
That line, which Gibson put at the top of his Time to Compete Instagram page, has never resounded so clearly than it has to all of us who knew and loved him. Each and every day we continue to rely heavily on others as we mourn the death of such a vibrant young man.

Gibson died as he lived, surrounded by friends and surrounded by love. Never feeling sorry for himself he spent his final days telling his friends and family how much he cared for them while displaying the tenets he held so closely.

Loyalty, perseverance and vulnerability.

To Gibson, Time to Compete was a rallying cry of strength and unity, but more importantly it stood for an awareness and a recognition that nobody should be alone or have their basic needs unmet when dealing with cancer.
Despite everything that was thrown at him over the last eight months of his life,
Gibson remained grateful.

So where do we go from here?

Time to Compete.

We feel honored to take up the reins of this organization and to work hard to do what Gibson set in motion.

Time to Compete.

This phrase is our mantra and we will repeat over and over again while we remind everyone that we are better together.

Time to Compete.
We will seek out partnerships both big and small with people and organizations that recognize that sometimes even an incremental effort is all it takes takes to make someone's life a little easier.
Time to Compete.

We will use these three simple words to keep Gibson alive in our hearts.

We are in awe of the amazing outpouring of support both through the purchasing of merchandise and the donations. We are proud to announce that we received our 501c3 tax exempt status two months earlier than expected and we have officially elected our board of directors.

We have started the process of strategizing and planning how we can best support young women and men who may not have the same advantages that Gibson had.

We have several amazing events planned for this summer and we will
start posting about those and other things regularly.

So follow us, share us, like us, friend us or simply drop us a letter. Wear your
TTC gear with pride and shout it from the rafters whenever you need inspiration for yourself or for others.

In unity, there is strength.

So much more to come.
